Bequests & Estate Gifts

Bequests

When you remember Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences in your will with a gift or bequest—of any size—you can provide lasting support for PA College and its mission while you maintain your assets throughout your lifetime. Some of the advantages of creating a bequest include:

  • The satisfaction of knowing you have provided for PA College into the future—with no current cost to you
  • You retain control and use of your assets during your lifetime—and you may even modify your bequest if your circumstances change
  • Gifts to PA College from your estate are exempt from federal estate taxes

A bequest to PA College can be made for a specific amount, for a percentage of your estate, or for all or a portion of what remains after you have provided for your loved ones.

Create a Lasting Legacy with an Endowed Fund

Endowed funds of $25,000 or more may be established by bequest or many purposes, including:

  • Scholarships
  • Teaching and research
  • Support of PA College programs or services such as tutoring, library resources, or campus engagement

A fund created by your bequest can carry your name or that of someone else you wish to honor. Named endowed funds, because of the enduring support they provide, are a wonderful way to share what is meaningful to you within the PA College community far into the future.

Making your bequest

To make a gift to PA College from your estate, you can add a codicil to your present will, make an amendment to an existing trust instrument, or sign a new will or living trust.

You may also choose to designate PA College as a beneficiary of a retirement plan or life insurance policy. To do so, yo should contact your retirement or life insurance plan administrator and complete the appropriate beneficiary designation form.

This is an important opportunity to create your legacy of care by supporting the caregivers of tomorrow and the people in your community who will receive their care.

If you have included PA College in your estate plans, please complete the bequest form below and forward it to us so we can express our gratitude and include you in special events and communications.

Jennifer Hassel

When I started nursing school I was a recently widowed single mom looking for meaning and purpose to carry me forward—and I certainly found it at Lancaster General. Today, I realize that having PA College as a local resource benefits the community as well as the health care profession, and in making my bequest to the school I am truly saying thank you on a personal level.
