Stress & Caregiver Fatigue
How well do you handle the stresses in your life? In this session, we will assess our perceived stress levels and identify ways our bodies tell us we are nearing meltdown. We will identify ways we diffuse our stress, including through the practice of mindfulness and the use of humor.
With a degree in Psychology from Millersville University, Lori L. Dierolf, BA, PCHA, CDP, CADDCT, CAEd spent twenty-two years as a Human Resources and Staff Development Professional in the long-term care industry. Since 2006, she has also been a Personal Care Home Administrator, where she worked closely with families as well as with individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.
Lori is a Certified Dementia Practitioner and a Certified Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Trainer with the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners. She also is a Certified Alzheimer and Aging Educator through the National Certification Board for Alzheimer and Aging Care. She is passionate about helping people learn how to support and communicate with those suffering from the disease. Through her company, Open Door Training & Development LLC, Lori conducts seminars and speaking engagements for healthcare facilities, colleges and universities, community groups, and dementia support programs.
Her enthusiastic, interactive training style allows Lori to connect with her audience by engaging her learners from beginning to end. She uses real-life examples from her own personal experiences to provide learners with a better understanding of dementia, as well as tons of easy-to-use, effective skills that will immediate improve relationships with those living with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia.
