What information do I need to bring to my pre-employment drug screen/physical?

  • Complete the Pre-employment Health Questionnaire provided to you with your confirmation of drug screen/physical.
  • Proof of Immunizations (TB testing, etc.)
  • Proof of Influenza Vaccination (Flu season defined as November 1st – March 31st)

Will I attend the PA College New Employee Orientation (NEO) as well as the Clinical Orientation?

  • Yes, you will be required  to attend both the PA College NEO and additional orientation as directed by your manager.

What do I need to bring on day one?

  • PA RN License and/or other licenses and certifications
  • PA Child Abuse Clearance and receipt instructions
  • FBI Fingerprint Clearance (blue original) and receipt instructions

How do I verify my I-9 if I am a remote hire?

What form do I need to complete to have Remote Access?

To be granted access to PA College and Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health networks, new hires will need to complete the following:

All new hires will need to complete Attachment A Side 1 of this document and scan it back to Human Resources prior to your first day.

When will I use Workday as a remote employee after the new paperwork is completed?

Workday empowers employees (Full-time, Part-time and Casual/Adjunct) to manage personal data easily and accurately. Workday will allow the remote employee to view and update personal information, view and print payslips, view position details, compensation and much more. To keep the account active, remote employees need to log into their account at least once every 180 days.

Can I download the Workday application for my phone?

Yes, for quick access to Workday you can download the mobile app on your iPhone or Android. To access Workday outside of the PA College or Penn Medicine LG Health secure networks, you will need to sign up for DUO (Two-Factor Authentication). DUO is a two factor authentication used to strengthen the protection of data. DUO is required for any Workday login taking place outside of the PA College or Penn Medicine LG Health secure networks.

Duo Security requires a device (mobile phone/landline phone) that can receive an automated text message or phone call to validate you as an authorized Workday user. This process is also necessary to access Workday through a Mobile Application. To download the Mobile App, you will need to enter tenant ID – LGHealth.

How will I spend my first day?

In our New Employee Orientation (NEO), you will:

  • Learn about the College and its culture and mission
  • Explore the PA College portal
  • Have your picture taken for your employee badge
  • Meet your manager

What is the dress code?

Dress is business casual. For additional details, refer to the Employee Handbook, located in Workday Orientation.

What do I need to bring on day one?

  1. I-9 verification documents (Visit https://www.uscis.gov/i-9-central/acceptable-documents for a list of acceptable documents).
  2. Any additional required documents requested by Human Resources.

Where do I park?

Please park in the visitor lot (in front of the main building).

What options are available for lunch?

Options include a campus cafeteria, cafe (with salad bar & light lunch options) and a self-serve convenience store (“C store”). You may also pack a lunch – there are plenty of refrigerators and microwaves available for your convenience.

What is Workday and why do I need it?

When will I receive my Workday log-in information?

As a new hire, you will receive an email with a link to Workday within 30 days of your start date.  If you do not receive this Welcome email from Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health, please contact Human Resources.

Is there a guide to help me navigate Workday?

Yes, there is. Upon receiving your offer letter, you should have also received a PDF with useful tips to help you complete your tasks. If you did not receive this document, please contact Human Resources.

What can you tell me about benefits?

As part of the Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health system, PA College is proud to be able to offer you exceptional employee benefit programs. These programs are designed to protect employees against catastrophic loss and hardship while ensuring they are flexible and understandable programs. Total reward offerings include health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, retirement income programs and tuition reimbursement. Health, dental and vision plans are available to all regular employees, 0.5 FTE and greater after 30 days of service*
*Eligibility may differ for certain positions.

Every eligible employee is required to complete the benefit enrollment process. Even if you choose not to elect any benefits, you should select “Decline” for each benefit type to decline coverage. What is my deadline to enroll in benefits?
New employees have 25 days from their hire date to enroll in benefits.

What happens if no action is taken within the first 25 days of my employment?
You will not be able to enroll in health, dental or vision benefits until the Annual Benefit Enrollment period for benefits.

I want to decline all benefits; do I have to do anything?
Yes, all benefit-eligible employees must log into Workday and make an election, even if declining insurance for the current calendar year. If you wish to decline your benefits, select ‘Waive’ for each benefit type.
