The Hiring Process

The hiring process begins when you submit an application through Workday, our online employment portal. In addition to completing the online application, you can also attach a resume and cover letter. All applicants must apply through Workday, including current PA College and Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health employees. Current employees can submit an internal application through Workday > Career.

If it seems like you’ll be a good fit for the position, we’ll contact you for a brief phone screening and schedule any interviews after that. We may hold multiple interviews as we narrow the pool of candidates for the position. You can check the status of your application at any time by logging into Workday, clicking “My Jobs,” and selecting “Current Status.”

All applicants will be contacted through email once a hiring decision has been made. In the unfortunate event you are not the selected candidate, we encourage you to continue reviewing our Employment Opportunities and apply to any additional positions of interest.

Who We Are

Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences has been preparing health care providers for more than 115 years. Originally operating as the Lancaster General Hospital School of Nursing, today we are a private, accredited, four-year college offering associate, bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree programs, as well as certificate programs. With enrollment of nearly 2,000 students, PA College continues to be the area’s only institution of higher education exclusively focused on health care.

Though PA College is owned by Penn Medicine Lancaster General Hospital, we operate as an independent organization. Our Board of Trustees and leadership is separate from the bodies that oversee the hospital and the rest of the LG Health organization. We operate under our own budget and with our own staff, and have strong connections with many health systems throughout the area. Our Campus

In 2016, classes began at PA College’s state-of-the-art campus at 850 Greenfield Road, in Lancaster, PA. More than just a few buildings, our campus is the physical manifestation of a paradigm shift in health care education – a learner-centered environment that embraces technology, connection and collaboration.

From dynamic classrooms with mobile furniture to collaboration rooms with whiteboard walls, every space on campus is designed for learning. Dining services, a fitness center and even an on-campus Starbucks offer additional opportunities to enjoy the PA College campus. Read more about our campus here!

At the heart of our campus is the Center for Excellence in Practice – more than 20,000 square feet of cutting-edge simulation space. This “miniature hospital” includes dedicated spaces for nursing and each health science discipline to practice and perfect skills in a hyper-realistic environment. High-fidelity manikins and patient actors enhance the experience, giving students a safe place to learn and grow their skills before using them on the clinical floor.
