Sister Agnes Marie Cummings, IHM, PhD, RN, is an experienced Associate Professor Nursing with a demonstrated 12- history of working in the higher education industry. Undergraduate, prelicensure face-to-face and online RN-to-BSN programs were begun and advanced under Sister Agnes' tutelage as inaugural faculty. Sister Agnes' experience in graduate nursing includes the Masters of Science of Nursing program of research methods and in graduate Education in the Higher Ed program--Quantitative Research Design.

Skilled in Medical Surgical Nursing Education, Academic Advising, Curriculum Development, and Neuroscience, Sister Agnes brings a rich background (20 years) to the Graduate Nursing Program at Pennsylvania College of Health Professions. Sister Agnes is a strong healthcare services professional with a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) focused in Healthcare Policy and Healthcare Economics from The Catholic University of America, Washington, DC. Sister Agnes published her dissertation research for which she received an award upon completing her PhD studies. Sister Agnes presented original research in High-Fidelity, Mechanical Clinical Simulation Effective Teaching Methodology at the national level.
At Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences, Sister Agnes Marie teaches the core curriculum in the undergraduate Associate and Bachelor of Science in Nursing programs. Sister Agnes’ personal educational philosophy builds on the concept of the faculty as the facilitator of learning in a positive, respectful classroom and clinical environment. An environment – where educators encourage individuals to ask complex questions and strive to develop caring and competent nurses. To integrate a variety of teaching-learning strategies and modalities that foster critical thinking and clinical judgment as a pedagogical framework.
