Biography
I began my nursing career as a graduate of Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences, and I am proud to still be connected today as a nursing faculty member. My clinical experience includes cardiac nursing and care of cardiothoracic surgery patients, in addition to a brief role in nursing administration. All throughout my nursing career, I have enjoyed any opportunity to teach patients, families, students, fellow nurses, and the community. My love of teaching lead me to pursue an education degree and join Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences as a faculty member in 2009. My teaching experience has been primarily focused in the upper level associate’s degree nursing program, in both clinical and classroom settings. I also supported the college as a simulation facilitator and member of the study team from 2011-2013 when the college participated in the National Simulation Study, sponsored by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing. In addition to pre-licensure education, I am very interested in the phenomenon of transition to practice. I am currently a doctoral student, developing a project focused on supporting newly graduated registered nurses transitioning to specialty practice in critical care.Teaching
