Biography

I have wanted to be a nurse since I was a young child. It is truly a dream come true to be able to share my passion and experience with student nurses. My specialties included critical care, labor and delivery, neonatal critical care and nursing leadership in several roles at The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. I was fortunate to practice with many interdisciplinary colleagues who taught me the importance of a “team” sharing diverse perspectives to provide world class patient care. In my spare time, you will find me in my craft room creating greeting cards or playing with my 3 year old mini/aussie, Fred, and my 5 year old Siberian tuxedo cat Blaze at our home near Pottstown. So happy for the opportunity to join the team at PA College.

Quote

Nursing puts us in touch with being human. Nurses are invited into the inner spaces of other people’s existence without even asking, for where there is suffering, loneliness, the tolerable pain of cure, or the solitary pain of permanent change, there is a need for the kind of human service we call nursing. - Donna Diers
