Just Employment 
at Saint Joseph's

 

 

Saint Joseph’s University enacted its Just Employment Policy (JEP) informed by Catholic Social Teaching, the Ignatian value of cura personalis, and our commitment to promote a just and dignified workplace for all workers. The purpose of the JEP is to ensure the University's treatment of workers is consistent with this moral obligation. The JEP stipulates that the University and its contractors will provide workers with a wage sufficient to fulfill their diverse social, cultural, economic, and spiritual needs, and foster a workplace that allows them to find fulfillment as human beings. The Just Employment Oversight Committee reviews policies and practices related to the JEP, follows up on concerns related to JEP issues raised by SJU community members, including contract workers, staff, faculty, and students, and informs the university community about the university's implementation of the policy.

Employment

 

If you are a current University student looking for information regarding student employment opportunities and federal work-study, visit Handshake to see a list of posted positions. If you have any questions regarding HandShake, contact the Career Center. Student employment is managed through the Office of Human Resources. After you are selected for a position, your supervisor will hire you officially in our system (Workday) and you will complete onboarding electronically. 

You will also be required to complete the I-9 Form in person at the HR office. You can find the list of acceptable documents on the USCIS website. No photo or digital copies will be accepted, so please make arrangements to pick up your identification document(s) or have them mailed to you before you begin working if they are not already with you.

Visit the HR Office Monday through Friday from 10 am to 4 pm in St. Mary’s Hall to complete your I-9 Form. Walk-ins outside these hours will not be permitted to ensure physical distancing.
