Association of Surgical Technologists Honor Society (AST NHS)
This group celebrates the achievement of surgical technology students and supports their learning and professional development. Students must have a GPA of 3.75 or higher and demonstrate integrity and leadership in academic and extracurricular activities.
Healthy Planet Club
Members of the Healthy Planet Club work toward a more sustainable community. This group is open to all students, faculty, staff and administrators. The club plans two annual awareness events: Recycling Week and Earth Week. Participation enables students to achieve “model productive citizenship and civic responsibility.”
Humanity is an online creative publication that features student and faculty writing. It connects the college community with real-life stories about health care. Most content is written in classes at the college. Featured pieces are selected and published by college English faculty.
The Multicultural Club raises cultural awareness, promotes acceptance and works to foster a better understanding of diversity. The Multicultural Club is open to and inclusive of all students. Participation in this club enables students to achieve “respect for cultural differences, values, beliefs and practices,” and participate in experiences needed for the portfolio project.
National Student Nurses’ Association (NSNA)
NSNA is the official professional association for future registered nurses. Membership in NSNA and the corresponding state constituent, SNAP, provides prospective registered nurses with professional development opportunities at the national and state levels. Membership is open to nursing majors and pre-clinical students.
Nursing Honor Society—RN to BSN Program
Sigma Theta Tau International, the Honor Society of Nursing, has a chapter at PA College, Psi Pi. This organization supports the learning, knowledge and professional development of nurses committed to making a difference in health worldwide. Eligibility criteria can be found in the Division of Nursing Undergraduate Handbook.
The Photography Club gives students a visual outlet for their creativity. The club is open to students and staff regardless of experience. It meets monthly and sponsors guest speakers, field trips and contests. Student photography is displayed throughout the main campus building.
The Campus Life Board (CLB)—Formerly the Student Government Association
The CLB represents and is open to all students. The organization recognizes student clubs and organizations in conjunction with Office of Student Support Services. It fosters leadership skills and develops positive relationships between students in various programs. The CLB organizes events that serve the community, engage students and encourage student voices on campus. All students currently enrolled in PA College are encouraged to take part in CLB events and provide feedback.
Upsilon Phi Delta Honor Society
Upsilon Phi Delta is the honor society for health care management. It furthers professional competence and recognizes students who achieve distinction in health care administration studies. Members are selected on the basis of academic achievements, service to the community and contributions to the health care management profession.
