Vascular Sonography
Vascular Ultrasound Technologists use their unique expertise to examine the veins and arteries of patients, making sure their blood is flowing as it should.
Program Details
In the region’s only vascular sonography certificate program, you’ll learn the specialized skills to conduct ultrasounds on veins and arteries throughout the body. Our hands-on curriculum includes clinical rotations through a variety of health care facilities, as well as experiential learning through vascular scanning in our on-campus ultrasound suite.
You’ll use your expertise to monitor circulation, check for blood clots or narrowing vessels, support surgeons during stent or graft placement procedures, and more.
PA College cannot guarantee clinical rotations for students who have not received the COVID-19 vaccine.

In addition to meeting general admission requirements, applicants must meet the following program-specific requirements:
Applicants to the Academic Certificate program must have earned an associate or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution, have completed an accredited two (2)-year post-secondary Allied Health program or will have met the associate or baccalaureate requirements from the primary educational institution upon completion of the Academic Certificate program. Prior to entering the Academic Certificate program, candidates must complete the following college-level courses with a grade of “C” (74%) or better:
- College Algebra
- English Composition
- Human Anatomy & Physiology I and II
- Physics

Students already holding an associate or baccalaureate degree, or who will have met the baccalaureate requirements from their primary educational program upon completion of the certificate program, may apply for the 13-month academic certificate program on a space available basis.
