About

As a diagnostic medical sonographer, you’ll work closely with patients to perform ultrasounds and sonograms that help physicians evaluate health and diagnose issues. This certificate program is perfect for students with previous college experience who want to start a career in the fast-growing field of sonography. During the program, you’ll experience a variety of real-life exams and invasive procedures, from obstetrics and gynecology to vascular and trauma. You’ll also test your skills in our simulation ultrasound suite.

Requirements

Applicants must have completed a two-year, post-secondary allied health program, or have earned an associate degree or higher.

Certificate candidates must complete the following college-level courses with a grade of “C” or better:

  • English Composition
  • Physics
  • Human Anatomy & Physiology I and II
  • Medical Terminology
  • Methods of Patient Care

Academic Certificate Program

Students already holding an associate or baccalaureate degree, or who will have met the baccalaureate requirements from their primary educational program upon completion of the certificate program, may apply for the 13-month academic certificate program on a space available basis.
