Program Details
As a diagnostic medical sonographer, you’ll work closely with patients to perform ultrasounds and sonograms that help physicians evaluate health and diagnose issues. This certificate program is perfect for students with previous college experience who want to start a career in the fast-growing field of sonography. During the program, you’ll experience a variety of real-life exams and invasive procedures, from obstetrics and gynecology to vascular and trauma. You’ll also test your skills in our simulation ultrasound suite.

In addition to meeting general admission requirements, applicants must meet the following program-specific requirements:
Applicants to the Academic Certificate program must have earned an associate or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution, have completed an accredited two (2)-year post-secondary Allied Health program or will have met the associate or baccalaureate requirements from the primary educational institution upon completion of the Academic Certificate program. Prior to entering the Academic Certificate program, candidates must complete the following college-level courses with a grade of “C” (74%) or better:
- College Algebra
- English Composition
- Human Anatomy & Physiology I and II
- Physics
PA College cannot guarantee clinical rotations for students who have not received the COVID-19 vaccine.
