Where Health Care
Heroes Are Made.
It’s no secret that health care providers are needed now more than ever. At PA College, we’re still doing what it takes to prepare tomorrow’s health care heroes. The way we teach may have changed, but the value and quality of our education has never wavered.
Our students proudly answer the call each and every day, especially this past year during an international pandemic.
In March, Kenneth “Kip” Powell ’21, a student in our Adult/Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program, took a leave of absence from Einstein Medical Center and took a temporary position at a large hospital in midtown Manhattan to help with the COVID crisis. Kip shared, “It was inspiring to see so many nurses fearlessly answer the call when the biggest city in the world was in so much distress.”
Loren Livote ’21, a student in our Three-Year Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program and President of PA College’s chapter of the Student Nurses’ Association of Pennsylvania, shares, “Being virtual has proven to be difficult; however, we have been able to come up with many virtual opportunities to keep both students and the community safe during the pandemic. Some of these events include virtual mask donations for children, virtual conferences and a Zoom presentation from Penn State Health employees.”
