• Professional Certificate: Foundation for Health Informatics

    Health informatics can be simply described as a mix of technology and health care. PA College is pleased to offer a professional certificate in a Foundation for Health Informatics that is designed for individuals who wish to expand their knowledge and skills in order to function more effectively in an increasingly technology-driven health care environment. This certificate will provide you with a foundational understanding that emphasizes management and facilitation of the effective use of informatics in health care.

    At the completion of the professional certificate in Foundation for Health Informatics, you will:

    • Explore the impact of the electronic medical health record on health care facilities and communities.
    • Describe strategies for leading a team through a project related to health care informatics.
    • Describe how leaders can leverage health informatics in order to improve health care.

    Admission Requirements

    Prospective students are eligible to enroll in this program if one of the following descriptions apply.

    • Students currently enrolled in one of PA College’s bachelor’s degree programs can work with their academic advisor to outline the most efficient way to schedule courses to earn the professional certificate at the same time as their bachelor’s degree.
    • Applicants who have earned their associate or bachelor’s degree may apply. Each applicant will be considered to determine if they have the prerequisite knowledge to be successful. English composition and college-level math, or the equivalents, are required prerequisites.
    • Applicants who have 1,000+ hours of health informatics experience will be considered. Each applicant will be considered to determine if he or she has the prerequisite knowledge to be successful. English composition and college-level math, or the equivalents, are required prerequisites.
