• Professional Certificate: Cardiac Electrophysiology



    Cardiac electrophysiology is the fastest growing and technologically advanced subspecialty in cardiology. Designed for technologists who are currently working in an EP lab or in a cath lab performing EP studies and cardiac device implants, this program will offer theoretical knowledge of cardiac electrophysiology and internal cardiac devices over the course of one year. Learn from faculty who are subject matter experts in this fully online program while working fulltime and balancing your personal life. Successful students may be eligible to take the Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist examination offered by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) or the Certification offered by the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE).

    At the completion of the Professional Certificate in Cardiac Electrophysiology, you will:

    • Utilize critical thinking and theoretical knowledge in your clinical practice.
    • Practice responsibly within the ethical and legal realm of the cardiac electrophysiology profession.

    Admission Requirements

    In order to enroll in the Professional Certificate in Cardiac Electrophysiology, applicants must meet the following requirements.

    • Applicant must be credentialed/licensed and in good standing in one of the following disciplines: RCES, RCIS, NMT, RT, RRT, RN.
    • Applicant must be employed fulltime in the electrophysiology lab or in a cardiovascular lab performing EP studies and cardiac device implants.
    • Applicant must provide two professional references with their college application.

    CEP 202 Electrophysiology Sciences 3 credits
    CEP 204 Electrophysiology Theory I 3 credits
    CEP 215 EP Arrhythmia Theory 3 credits
    CEP 216 Cardiac Device Theory 3 credits
    HSC 200 Advanced Cardiac Life Support* 1 credits

    TOTAL   16 credits

    *Students may only transfer HSC 200 Advanced Cardiac Life Support. A copy of a valid ACLS card is required to earn transfer credit.
