Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences has been an entity of the Lancaster General Health/Penn Medicine health system since its start in 1903. As the College has grown and the landscape of health care has changed, the benefits of an education at PA College and LG Health/Penn Medicine are numerous!
As one of the largest health systems in South Central PA, LG Health/Penn Medicine provides our students with guaranteed clinical experiences at their 533-bed Lancaster General Hospital, 98-bed Women & Babies Hospital, 59-bed Lancaster Rehabilitation Hospital, as well as outpatient services at 14 outpatient centers, including Downtown and Suburban outpatient pavilions and several Urgent Care sites.
With facilities of this size, our students not only have access to state-of-the-art technology and equipment, but they are learning alongside health care professionals who are leaders in their clinical area. Designated three times as a Magnet hospital for nursing excellence, Lancaster General Hospital was ranked in 2015 by U.S. News & World Report as one of the Best Hospitals in the nation in three specialties and ranked fifth among Pennsylvania hospitals. This distinction recognizes those that excel in treating the sickest of patients; measuring reputation, outcomes, safety and other care-related indicators. From day one, students begin building a professional relationship and networking with some of the industry’s greatest, ultimately preparing them for a lifetime of success in health care.
LG Health/Penn Medicine. Just another benefit of a PA College education.
