PA College named a “2017 GREAT COLLEGE TO WORK FOR”
July 17, 2017
LANCASTER, PA – Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences is one of the best colleges in the nation to work for, according to a new survey by The Chronicle of Higher Education.
The results released in The Chronicle’s tenth annual report on The Academic Workplace are based on a survey of employees at 232 colleges and universities from across the U.S. PA College received recognition in the “Work/Life Balance” category, which focuses on the workplace and policies that give employees the flexibility to manage their personal lives, as well as the in the “Facilities, Workspace & Security” category, which focuses on whether the facilities adequately meet the needs of the employees, the appearance of the campus is pleasing and the institution takes steps to provide a secure environment.
“We are beyond thrilled to receive this recognition once again for our workplace standards and practices,” said Vice President of Human Resources Nancy Florey. “We take great pride in our longstanding history of creating a work environment and culture that fosters work/life balance and the success of our employees, both professionally and personal. To be recognized in these two categories says a lot about the College’s commitment to employee health, well-being and engagement, and our new campus has greatly supported us with our efforts. The availability of space has provided us with more ways to collaborate and enrich our culture, giving employees the best potential workplace that supports the work that they love.”
The Chronicle’s 2017 Great Colleges to Work For® program recognizes small groups of colleges (based on enrollment size) for specific best practices and policies. The survey results are based on a two-part assessment process: an institutional audit that captured demographics and workplace policies from each institution, and a survey administered to faculty, administrators and professional support staff. The primary factor in deciding whether an institution received recognition was the employee feedback.
